Steve is a Registered Psychologist with 25 years experience in Education and Psychology and is a leading expert on School well-being and Positive Psychology practice. Steve provides educational strategic planning approaches aligned to key organisational objectives and he has worked with many schools in helping develop whole school wellbeing approaches. He consults widely both nationally and internationally in helping schools move to integrated academic and well-being excellence.
Steve has been a School Psychologist since 1994, having worked with the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay, St Aloysius College, and currently as the Head of Positive Education at Knox Grammar School. He recently received the Knox Headmaster’s Award for Leadership in 2013. Steve is also a Founding member of The Australasian Biofeedback Society and International School Psychologists Society. He is a Qualified Teacher, certified Sports Psychologist and Physical Education Instructor.
Steve has worked as the Deputy Head of a large Co-Educational School and was also Head of Economics. He was awarded the Teacher’s Merit Award in 1990 and he has published two textbooks, Economics for Senior Students and Accounting for Senior Students. He has also been published in The Commerce Teacher and the International Journal of Special Education. Steve has presented Seminars/ Training at Riverview, Ravenswood, St Vincents, Cranbrook and Epping Boys High School on Self-esteem and Well-being . He has also trained schools in Peer Mediation (MLC, Ravenswood, Knox, St Aloysius, Riverview).
Steve has presented at numerous National and International Conferences on Positive Education and Appreciative Inquiry. He has been a keynote at many National conferences and presented in Canada at the First North American Positive Psychology Conference (2012) and at IPPA in LA in 2013. Steve was the Director of the First Australian Positive Education Conference in 2013 and the Director of the Practising Positive Education Conference in 2015. Steve is a Supervisor Psychologist as well as a Supervisor Coach. He has provided Supervisor coaching to various organisations such as the Helmsman Project and Relationships Australia. He is an Advisor to the UOW Koolobong Village the First Positive Psychology Residence in the World.
